What can I use to help give me an energy boost?
Since giving birth to my son, I have had a difficult time getting back into shape. Most of the trouble seems to be related to my complete lack of energy. I feel tired all the time and very unmotivated to exercise. I was wondering if there is anything out there (natural, prescription or OTC) that can help me get the boost I need to get back into working out. I’m not looking for something to take long term, I just need help getting over this hump so that I don’t feel too tired to exercise and can start to benefit from the natural energy that exercise itself will provide. Any suggestions?
Try eating only whole fresh foods for a week: lots of fresh uncooked fruits and vegetables, raw nuts, chicken and fish, whole grains like rice and whole grain bread. Limit dairy and sweets, chips and processed foods, no fried foods. I’ll bet your energy will improve.

The herb Ginseng is good for energy, & so is the vitamin B complex.
You may want to consider a daily protein shake, as well.

Hi,
If you drink any pop, cut that out and drink more water. Also try eating strawberries and celery (not at the same time though).
They seem to get your juices flowing.

i know this sounds weird. but my mom is SUCH a tired person. she has to have a soda every day a few times… even in the morning. she used to drink diet coke. now she realized that she is WAY too tired to just a coke, so she replaces her morning coke with a "low carb MONSTER" which is a type of carbonated energy drink. it actually DOES work. my mom now goes to the gym to work out at 5 am. this is just incase you dont want to actually TAKE anything orally or anything! just a suggestion. hope it helps!!!
oh and by the way. if you go to Sam’s Club, you can get a huge pack on MONSTER for really cheap… and its better for you that pop, its low carb/cal.

I would take to your doctor first, to see if there are any medical reasons causing you lack of energy. Second, modifying your diet might give you more energy; instead of taking caffeinated beverages or drinking/eating a lot of sugary substances (which can boost your energy for a while, but may leave you feel drained) Eat foods which keep your blood sugar at a constant level. Whole foods with low sugar work well (try Quaker low-sugar granola), as well as small portion fruits (like berries or baby bananas). Cut refined foods out of your diet if possible. Drink a lot of water (8-10 glasses a day).

If you need to take something over the counter to give you more of a boost, take vitamin B complex. It naturally gives you energy and works to speed up your metabolism, too. If you’re looking to for a natural appetite suppressant, chromium picolonate is good to take.
The best thing to do is eat balanced meals of good carbs and protein. Stay away from anything made with refined sugars…they tend to make you feel sluggish and slow you down.
